Who can enrol on this course?

Our kitchen fitter training course is open to all. Even if you have no experience whatsoever, our tutors will help you to master the basics before you move on to increasingly advanced techniques such as cutting, installing and finishing (see Units Covered below for a complete list of what you can expect to learn on this course).

Gender, race and nationality don’t matter to us – whoever you are and whatever your background, we would be more than happy to welcome you onto this training course. The only requirement is that you must be over the age of 18 to enrol.


Our kitchen fitter training course will equip you with the following City & Guilds qualifications:
  1. City & Guilds 6219 Certificate – This qualification covers all of the essential construction skills that you will need to become a professional kitchen fitter.
  2. Part P Domestic Electrical Installation – Covers the installation and maintenance of lighting, sockets, cooker circuits, consumer units, and other domestic electrical installations. This qualification will also allow you to certify full house re-wires and other installations.
  3. City & Guilds 2382-10 18th edition Wiring Certificate – This portion of our kitchen fitter training course will give you a solid working knowledge of the current wiring regulations.

Units covered

Our professional kitchen fitter course includes the following units:
  • How to measure and mark up accurately
  • How to set out, fix and level all the units
  • How to cut different types of worktops for sinks and hobs
  • How to install sinks, taps and hobs
  • How to cut butt and scribe joints in worktops
  • How to fit end panels
  • How to use a router and jig
  • How to install kitchen appliances
  • How to finish the kitchen (fitting handles, adjusting doors, etc.)
We also equip learners with a basic understanding of tiling (for splashbacks) and plumbing and soldering techniques.

Progress Routes

Once you have completed the kitchen fitter training course, your tutor will be more than happy to discuss your ambitions with you and recommend further training routes to suit your goals. While this course is a superb starting point, you may wish to undertake further training programmes and gain more advanced qualifications before beginning your new career – this will give you a competitive advantage over other kitchen fitters.
