Who is the professional carpentry course for?

At Access Training Academies we’ve developed our professional carpentry course with absolute beginners in mind, so if you are starting from scratch, this programme is likely to be far more suitable for you than other accredited carpentry courses.


Completing this course will get you the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry, a recognised industry qualification that will help you to get started as a professional carpenter. The diploma will also enable you to move on to the NVQ Level 2 Certification for experienced carpenters – a qualification that gives experienced carpenters an extra advantage over others in the industry.

Units covered

To achieve the 6706-23 Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry, you will need to cover the following areas:
How to use the relevant tools and materials
Fixing flooring and roofing by fixing verge and eave components
How to lay floor joists/fix joist coverings
Installing doors and ironmongery
Installing service encasements, cladding, kitchen worktops & fittings
Maintenance – repairing doors/windows
Manufacturing routine joinery products (from plan to assembly)
