Who is this course for?

Anybody can enrol onto this course, which was designed and developed by Access Training Academies and aims to start candidates on the road to a successful new career regardless of prior experience. Absolute beginners are welcome; whatever your age, gender, race, or nationality, we would be more than happy to have you on this course.

Qualification

Candidates who complete our advanced plastering course will be awarded the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Plastering. This qualification is the industry standard for professional plasterers – gaining the 6708-23 diploma will effectively mark you out as a certified plasterer, as well as giving you a great foundation for the NVQ Level 2 qualification should you wish to take your training further.

Units Covered

Here are the topics you will cover en route to gaining your 6708-23 Level 2 diploma:
  • Understanding the construction of internal and external walls
  • Mixing plaster to the right ratio for the job
  • How to fix and cut plasterboard to walls/ceilings/stud walls
  • Three-coat plaster work
  • How to fix dry lining and plaster boards
  • Laying sand and cement screeds
  • How to lay a floorscreed
  • Applying plastering materials and rendering to external background

Progress Routes

As mentioned above, candidates who have completed our professional plastering course may opt to further their training by working towards the NVQ Level 2 Certification for Experienced Plasterers. This is a more advanced plastering qualification that will expand your skillset and enhance your understanding of plastering practices, giving you a competitive edge that will really help you to succeed in your new role as a professional plasterer.

Alternatively, we offer a variety of other trade course here at Access Training Academies, and we will be more than happy to help you master another trade (such as bricklaying or tiling) that will complement your plastering skills and expand your scope when looking for work.
