Building Regulations Course
(City & Guilds 2393-10 Certificate)
Course overview
The course provides candidates with a comprehensive look into electrical installation work that’s carried out on domestic properties. In particular it addresses specific areas that are notifiable to the local authority Building Control when particular types of work are carried out. It also looks at other parts of the Building Regulations including how an electrician would implement their work and what procedures they must follow when carrying out installations on domestic dwellings. The City & Guilds 2393-10 is highly regarded throughout the industry, with the 5 main competent person schemes and high quality employers who commonly look upon the 2393-10 as an essential and highly regarded qualification.
Who is this qualification for?
Even though there are no entry requirements to attend this course, we would only advise that the course is suitable for individuals who have some prior knowledge of electrical principles and electrical theory and have been practising in the industry for some time. This is because the course is a short update and uses common electrical terminology and uses practical examples of how the regulations apply that only an experienced candidate will understand. If you are in any doubt as to your suitability then please call.
The course is ideally designed for anyone already involved in electrical work including domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installations. Without the technical experience candidates may struggle so we would recommend the Basic Electrical Theory, 3 day course if applicable.
Delegates will be provided with a copy of the IEE Electricians Guide to the Building Regulations book for the duration of the course. This book can be purchased from us if you need your own copy.
You will gain the highest standard of achievement
All candidates will be assessed through answering 20 multiple choice questions in our online examination suite with the exam being conducted using the “open book” principle. At the end of the examination all candidates are given their results to take away.
