Our Gas Engineer Courses are specifically designed for anyone including those with little or no prior experience of working in the gas industry, practicing plumbers, heating engineers or anyone working with the building services sector who wants to achieve gas certification.

Access Training's Gas Certification Centre offers structured gas engineer courses as a route into the gas industry and gas certification. Developed with Gas Safe Registration (formally CORGI registration) in mind, our Elementary Gas Certificate section of our gas engineer courses forms the natural route into the Domestic Gas industry via the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS), which upon successful completion, with the appropriate experience leads to gas certification and can lead to Gas Safe registration.
Who are these Gas Engineer Courses for?
The gas engineer courses are available to everyone. Our dedicated advisors will establish, through consultation with every candidate, their previous experience, their level of practical skill and technical ability. A typical student could be someone already working as a 'mate' within the gas/plumbing related industries, or as is often the case, someone looking for a career change without any previous experience. Rest assured, we guarantee that all our students are capable of completing one of our gas engineer courses which in no doubt contributes to our exceptional gas certification pass rates.

NICEIC Gas Certification forms a structured training package as an alternative to NVQ gas engineer courses as a route into the gas industry. The course is based on modules of Onsite Specialist Training at our gas certification centre, followed by the candidate working under the supervision of an existing Gas Safe registered engineer to create a portfolio of evidence on various areas of work. During collation of your practical evidence, sufficient support and guidance will be given to ensure completion as part of our gas engineer courses. Once your portfolio is complete you will receive a certificate of achievement, which allows you to go forward to undertake ACS Core Gas Safety (CCN1). Progress routes after completing one of our gas engineer courses

If this is the case than we recommend that completing both this and gas certification as complete package ensuring that the student has practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge of electrical work. This provides students who successfully complete both courses with a good grounding and the ability to carry our domestic installations safely and within the regulations.

You may also wish to consider gaining a formal plumbing qualification by completing both the NVQ2 in plumbing together with one of the gas engineer courses. It will ensure that you as a student will have the practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge of plumbing. This provides students who successfully complete the gas certification course with a good grounding for a long and prosperous career in plumbing as well as the gas sector. However, we consider it essential that a plumbing and gas career is considered to be progressive in that every student should add more skills and qualifications as they gain experience to further their career.

Our gas engineer courses serve to provide this clear progression route, helping learners to achieve the career goals they aspire to. Successful gas certification candidates also attend some of the following courses to increase their earning potential and to meet the demands of the industry:
  • Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems
  • WRAS Water Regulations
