How to Become Gas Safe Registered

You can apply online here. But before you do…

To become gas safe registered, you will need evidence of relevant qualifications and competence. Acceptable evidence includes:
  • A Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) qualification
  • A Scottish/National Vocational Qualification (S/NVQ), such as the 6012 City & Guilds range
  • Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) certification

You will also be asked to provide your national insurance number, contact details and you’ll be required to pay a fee. When you apply to be registered for the first time, a probationary status will be provided. This three-month probationary period means you are registered, but for this time you must keep a record of all work and notify the Gas Safe Register of all completed work. This is put in place in order for applicants to demonstrate their competence.
