These electrician courses consist of modules of on-site specialist training plus home based technical study. It requires no previous experience of electrics and is designed for the individual wanting to become a qualified Domestic Electrical Installer. You will be able to not only install, test and inspect your own Domestic work, but be able to test and inspect other people’s existing domestic and commercial work; a highly lucrative and sought after skill. The electrician courses start with an introduction to electrical theory and electrical installations, then move on to getting you Part P (Electrical Domestic Installer) qualified and then progresses onto the City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2392 (The fundamentals of inspection and testing) giving you recognised qualifications that are highly regarded and in short supply in the industry.

The electrician courses then move onto cover the highly recognised and sought after City & Guilds 2391-10 Inspection & Testing (Level 3) Certificate, the qualification that many in the industry are looking towards.

During the electrician courses you will also learn how to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) and gain both your City & Guilds 2377-12 and 2377-11 qualifications. These certificates are regarded as the ‘must have’ qualifications as it allows you to test appliances, schedule when this needs to be carried out and covers how you generally administer the asset registers. You will also be able to carry out both visual inspections and carry out testing on other instruments after attending the electrician courses.

Who are these electrician courses for?
The electrician courses are a comprehensive blended learning programme. You will be guided from complete beginner to a level of understanding which is comparable to many electricians who already enjoy the benefits of working within the electrical industry.

The electrician courses are specifically designed for people with no prior electrical experience, its aim is to provide you with the theoretical understanding and practical skills required to work in a safe and responsible manner within the electrical installation and testing & inspecting industry.

As well as the home study, you will be spending modules of training whilst on the electrician courses at our training centre to complete the practical training, assessments and exams. You will have up to two years to complete all the qualifications contained within the electrician courses.
You will gain the highest standard of achievement on our electrician courses
The electrician courses will enable you to proficiently install your domestic electrical work, compliant with Building Regulations Part P. After gaining your EAL Domestic Electrical Installer Certificate and your 17th edition certificate, you are able to register to become a competent domestic electrical installer, with the ability to install, inspect, test and certify your work in accordance with BS 7671.

After completing our electrician courses you will then be able to register with a Competent Person Self-Certification Scheme such as NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA, where you can self-certify your installation work test and inspect existing installations and provide your customers with a Part P compliant certificate. Please note that if you are working on domestic electrical installations and you don’t have this qualification you will need to notify Building Control directly, who then send out an inspector to inspect, test and certificate the installation (a significant additional charge will be incurred for this service, costing hundreds of pounds) so attending this electrician course makes financial sense as well.

  • Extensions and loft conversions (The safety requirement will be applicable to alterations and additions to existing installations, including rewires, as well as to new constructions.)>
