17th Edition City & Guilds 2382-20
(Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 Level 3)
Course overview
The City & Guilds 2382-20 update qualification, is designed for practicing electricians and electrical engineers who already posses the 16th Edition qualification. Delegates who already hold the qualification (the City & Guilds 2381) and have done so since June 2001, need only attend our 1 day course to update their knowledge.
Additionally, it is now widely recognised that the 17th Edition serves as proof to the electrical industry that the individual has the competence with regards to electrical principles and standards. However, anyone wishing to attend this short update course will need to provide a copy of a certificate as proof that they are eligible for the update course. The following qualifications will need to be held:
1) City & Guilds 2381 must have been held from June 2001 or later
2) City & Guilds 2360 part 2 must have held this qualification since January 1st 2004
3) City & Guilds 2351 must be held after completing an Electro technical Advanced Apprenticeship after 1st January 2004.
4) City & Guilds 2330 part 7
5) City & Guilds 2330 part 8 Since January 2004
Who is this qualification for?
We would advise that the course is suitable individuals who have some prior knowledge of electrical principles and electrical theory and have been practising in the industry for some time. This is because the course is a short update and uses common electrical terminology and uses practical examples of how the regulations apply that only an experienced candidate will understand. If you are in any doubt as to your suitability then please call.
The course is ideally designed for anyone already involved in electrical work including domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installations. Without the technical experience candidates may struggle so we would recommend the17th Edition City & Guilds 2382-20, 3 day course if applicable.
The overall aim of this course is to update delegates on the differences between the 16th and 17th editions and will therefore focus on the main additions and alterations that have been included.
You will gain the highest standard of achievement
This City & Guilds 17th Edition Course of the Wiring Regulations requires the candidate to prove their knowledge by examination consisting of 30 multiple choice questions. The exam is classed as “open book” and is carried out via computer at our testing facility using the City & Guilds GOLA system. The advantage of this is that all candidates will be given their results after completing their test. Successful candidates will achieve the City & Guilds 2382-20 certificate. Our current success rate is the highest in the country for this examination.

This provides students who successfully complete both courses with a good grounding and the ability to carry our domestic installations safely and within the regulations.
