Flexible Part Time Decorating Course

(City & Guilds 6218 Award)
Course overview
At Access Training we fully understand that most of our potential students have busy, full lives working, looking after families and simply do not have the time to attend a course even though they have been wanting to attend various decorating courses for some time.

That is why Access Training has developed this bespoke course that gives the individual the flexibility to fit the course around your current lifestyle.

The course is designed to be varied so it can cater for everyone. We run regular flexible attendance options designed for parents who need to fit their training around school times whilst still having a learning pathway that can teach you how to transform your home.

You may be keen at DIY or have previous experience in hanging wallpaper for instance, but we assume you have never done anything like this before so you everyone can pick up the simple techniques from the start and work at their own learning speed.

You will eventually learn more advanced techniques that will allow you to add that ‘magazine look’ to your home and have a greater understanding of what you want to achieve and give you the confidence to use it out in the real world.

Depending on how long you would like your course to be, these are some of the areas you can cover:
  • Painting & Decorating Techniques
  • Wallpaper hanging and wall correction techniques
  • Advanced interior decoration including borders, stencilling and coving
  • Specialist paint effects including marbling and other faux finishes
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for literally anyone. It is designed for adults of any age who want to undertake Painting & Decorating jobs in the home, but do not have the knowledge, experience or confidence to produce a professional finish and to work safely. The tutors delivering this course will share with you their knowledge from many years experience so you can learn the necessary skills to take on these jobs safely and correctly and you will learn at a speed that is comfortable to you as an individual.
You will gain the highest standard of achievement
All candidates will receive a certificate to confirm their attendance upon completion of the course. It is also an option for individuals to sit an examination covering the aspects they have covered on the course, even though this course is accredited. This can be provided for delegates as an optional examination that can help those students who intend to progress onto other courses. However, delegates will receive a certificate accredited by Access Training.
