Course overview
This course is tailored for the beginner who would like to fit kitchens to a professional standard. This includes keen DIY or property developers who would like to learn how to design and fit a kitchen.
You will also learn how to plan, project manage and install a kitchen using industry standard techniques employed by professional installers. The course includes a design session which will cover the basic ‘triangle concept’ i.e. designing a client’s kitchen layout to provide the best economic use of the main work centres and looks at different ways a kitchen can be laid out for different shaped and sized rooms.
In summary, this 5-day course has been specifically designed for people wishing to become kitchen installers and is designed for a complete beginner. Who is this course for?
This course is designed for anyone. It is designed for adults who want to undertake a kitchen installation themselves, but do not have the knowledge, experience or confidence to carry this out. You will be able to achieve skills that you didn’t think you could before attending this course. The number of students on each course is just six guaranteeing a high level of personal attention from our experienced trainers.
There is also a 1-week Tiling Course which covers Tiling techniques for kitchens including splash backs and floors. The tutors delivering this course will share with you their knowledge from many years experience so you can learn the necessary skills to ensure you can install a kitchen and then tile leaving you or your customer happy with a completed job.

- How to measure and mark up accurately
- How to set out, fix and level all the units
- How to cut different types of worktops for sinks and hobs
- How to install sinks, taps and hobs
- How to cut butt and scribe joints in worktops
- How to fit end panels
- How to use a router and jig
- How to install kitchen appliances
- How to finish the kitchen properly i.e. fitting handles, adjusting doors etc
