Course overview
This course is designed to combine the trowel occupations disciplines of Plastering, Bricklaying and Tiling giving you an industry recognised certificate in the ‘wet trades’. It consists of a number of weeks of on-site specialist training taking place at our training centre and can be broken up into weekly elements that you can complete in your own time fittingaround your lifestyle and commitments.
Who is this qualification for?
This course is designed for literally anyone. It is designed for adults of any age who want to learn the valuable skills of bricklaying, plastering and tiling and get into the industry, but do not have the knowledge, experience or confidence to produce a professional quality and to work safely. The tutors delivering this course will share with you their knowledge from many years experience so you can learn the necessary skills to take on these jobs safely and correctly and you will learn at a speed that is comfortable to you as an individual.
You will gain the highest standard of achievement
All candidates will receive a City & Guilds Diploma to confirm their achievement of completing the course criteria. It is also an option for individuals to extend their course and to progress onto the CAA level Diploma. Even though this course is accredited by City & Guilds, extra training can be provided for delegates as an option that can help those students who intend to progress onto other more advanced Bricklaying, plastering or tiling courses. You will be working with one of our tutors in your own training areas and will receive training, depending on your progress, in the following skills and during the weeks spent with us:

You will be selecting up to 13 Construction Units from a total of 37 units. You must complete all mandatory elements to achieve the award:

Progress routes
After this course some students decide to go further and undertake other more advanced courses to broaden their scope of work. We recommend that completing an extension of the course and gaining the CAA level 2 Diploma as a complete package ensures that you as a student have the practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge of your work. This provides students who successfully complete both courses with a good grounding and the ability to carry out many tasks and increase their scope of work.
